A mound of broken stones and a solitary iron cross beneath a turbulent sky on a very early morning.  We could feel not only the weight of all that Pilgrims have carried to the highest point on the Camino Francés, but also a sense of endurance and hope.

This is a handmade photogravure etching, not a photographic print. It is ink pressed into fine paper from a plate we create from the original image.

Print is made with Gamblin Bone Black ink on Hahnemühle Copperplate paper. Prints are signed and numbered on the lower front. Image and paper sizes are approximate. Variations within the edition are possible and expected. Image 12 cm square on 20 cm × 28 cm paper.
