Before and After -- Mannequin Fine Art Photogravure
A mannequin and a skull, each wearing spectacles, stare out with equal confidence, blurring the line between beauty and mortality. The composition reminds us that fashion, youth, and identity are fleeting. In the end, we all become part of the same quiet story--just wearing different faces along the way.
This is a hand-pulled photogravure etching, not a photographic print. We press ink into fine art paper from a plate we create from the original image. Print is made with Gamblin Bone Black, warm sienna, raw sepia ink on Hahnemühle Copperplate paper. Prints are signed and numbered on the lower front. Image and paper sizes are approximate. Variations within the edition are possible and expected. Image 12 cm square on 20 × 28 cm paper.
